Annual Intergroup Picnic 2022

Intergroup of Palm Beach County held its annual picnic this month on Saturday October 15th at
the Micanopy Pavilion in Okeeheelee Park. There was some rain early in the morning as our
dedicated volunteers set up, but the sun broke through as the members started to arrive.
Just under 100 members showed up representing over 20 different meetings. They brought
delicious salads, sides, and deserts to complete the perfect picnic menu. Friends got together
to catch up with each other and continue to share the hope and courage to strengthen their
sobriety.
Intergroup raffled off two exquisite Big Book Manuscript replicas that brings the reader to the
very foundations of Alcoholics Anonymous . Not only do you hear the voice of founder Bill W in
the writing, you see the creative process of the hand written drafts and edits that became what
we still rely on as our sobriety compass…The Big Book.
Contributions received at the event offset much of the costs. This combined with volunteer
hours, membership contributions to the buffet, and Intergroup support made it a great event.
Intergroup wishes to thank the support of it’s groups, members, and volunteers for making this
event a success.
